Traditional Attars

Traditional Indian Attars are flower petals, roots, spices, resins, rare woods and even clay distilled into the deep mysterious base of Sandalwood. The sandalwood acts as a fixative, amplifying delicate subtleties while softening rich earthy tones.

The making of attars are intensively laborious to produce and could only be made in a country like India.. Depending on the kind of attar, production can take anywhere between three months to a couple of years. We are honored to offer these gems.

Sadly as the price of Indian sandalwood rises and competition from synthetic replacements increases, it is unknown how much longer true Indian attars will be available. It is up to us, lovers of the natural world, to continue supporting the remaining cottage industries.
